The Challenge
For the past 14 years, under the direction of Rabbi Yisroel and Miriam Hecht, Chabad of Sunnyvale has tirelessly served the Jewish Community of Sunnyvale--the Heart of Silicon Valley. Over that time, thousands of Jewish hearts have been warmed by the loving embrace of spirited Judaism that Chabad is famous for. Educational enrichment, spiritual inspiration, social services and community building--Chabad provides them all!
Throughout this decade and a half of achievement, the challenge of the multiple moves--six locations in fourteen years--has underlined the pressing need for a permanent and stable location. Silicon Valley is famous for the relentless upwards trend of the real estate market, and trying to buy a permanent facility was always a challenge. With skyrocketing prices, how would Chabad find a permanent home?
The Opportunity
In a remarkable stroke of Divine Providence, Chabad was offered and is now in contract on a property for an excellent price. In appreciation for Chabad of Sunnyvale, the seller has waited for six months to assist us in making a permanent Chabad House possible, and this is in a market in which properties are sold in a matter of a few days, all cash and way over asking price.
Simply put, this is an incredible opportunity.

The community's response has been overwhelming! In a few short months, $500,000 has been raised from generous members of the community and we are just shy of the amount needed to close this out! We need your help to make this happen. Our goal of $80,000 will enable Chabad to close escrow, renovate the property, and thus usher a new phase of dynamic growth and expansion for the activities and impact of Chabad of Sunnyvale. The Chabad House will also serve as a place of residence for the Rabbi and his family.
